The Heirs of the Dragon

King Viserys hosts a tournament to celebrate the birth of his son Aegon. His wife Aemma dies after a difficult childbirth and their newborn son Baelon later dies, causing a crisis of succession. Viserys names his daughter Rhaenyra as heir, angering his brother Daemon who is subsequently banished. The episode ends with political tensions rising as Daemon challenges the succession.
